This is Mai Chau, and gives you a sense of the village, which is modeled on a traditional White Thai village. The house is the stilt house where we stayed the night—all ten of us girls together with mats and mosquito nets. It was a lovely place.

This is from Hanoi, while we were on a cyclotour. You can see the cyclo of one of my classmates in front of the lady carrying goods in traditional fashion.

This is inside one of the limestone caves in Ha Long Bay. That’s me with Rae (from Australia) and Joycelin (from Papua New Guinea, but living in Australia).

This one is from outside the cave, looking out into Ha Long Bay. You can see a number of tourist junks and other ships. This cave is one of the ecomuseum projects.
This last image is the sun setting on the bay, as we headed back to our boat. Ha Long Bay is, I think the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. We were all very sad to leave. Next update will be on Hue.
